Beyond Forgiving won the Golden Award for Inspiration at the International Film Festival for Peace, Inspiration and Equality (IFFPIE) in 2013 in Jakarta, Indonesia. The film tells the inspiring journey of two South Africans who bring healing and reconciliation to post-apartheid South Africa. Ginn Fourie and Letlapa Mphahlele: a black atheist man and a white Christian woman. One has suffered directly from the actions of the other - both have been victims and risen beyond their pain. What brings them together is a profound story of both tragedy and hope.
Nicholas Senaraine aka Axiom is a 16 year old Calgary born hip hop artist. A son of immigrant parents, originally from Guyana, Axiom is an artist who is passionate about current affairs, social issues, and world events. He began using hip hop to express his thoughts and questions about the world around him when he discovered the Beltline Youth Centre, an inner city centre of support for youth, and a part of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Calgary. Through the hip hop music studio at BYC Axiom practiced his craft, received mentoring from BYC youth workers, created new friendships, and found a sense of identity through the music he created. Axiom is now a true BYC success story having released his debut mix tape, winning two song writing competitions, and preforming at various venues in the city, including Cafe Koi, The House, and as an opener for local hip hop sensation Transit at the National Music Centre. He continues to be an important member of the BYC community with an exciting future ahead of him. Please find below two recent media spots that highlight some of Axiom's achievements.
